Lessons From Solomon's Temple

 • Series: 2023 Sermon Archive

1 Kings 5:4-5  Lesson’s From Solomon’s Temple 1. A Place Of Worship For Many and Generations 2 Chronicles 3:1 God showed David the plans for the temple and he passed it down to his son Solomon to complete what the Lord started with him. It is our job to pass down the amazing stories of what the Lord is going to do in this place to generations to come. This place will not just bless us, it will bless many generations to come. 2. A Place For God’s Presence To Dwell Solomon’s Temple provided a place for God’s special presence among his people; the church and its individual members are the special dwelling—the “temple” of the Holy Spirit on earth All of this shows how the NT church fulfills the real purpose of the OT tabernacle/temple as God’s visible dwelling place on earth. 3. A Place Of Transformation The temple, which housed the Ark of the Covenant, symbolized God’s presence and character. It represented God’s desire to live among his people. It was a visible sign and pledge of his covenant relationship with the people, and it was built to honor God. They went to the temple to atone for their sins, now that is not what we do today, but we see in the scripture when people entered into the presence of God they never were the same again. What are our transformational moments? 1. Are you thankful for this miracle of God? 2. Do you need a fresh move of God today? 3. Are you ready to change the world?
