Being United As THE Church

 • Series: Exodus

Being United As THE Church Exodus 17:3-4 NIV 1. Learning at Its Finest The people are TORMENTED by their thirst to the point of testing the Lord. Well this is where the Isrealites are with their walk of faith. They are learning to trust in the lord and it is not a pretty process. Frustration, anger, stress, anxiety, they all start to mix in. We have all been there looking at how we will make it until the next check hits. Or when we are in a situation with a friend or family member and we don't see what to do next. We think about what only I can do when we need to be thinking is “I trust you Lord” Exodus 17:5-6 2. Moses Group project We can not work alone. We are meant to live in a community and be there for each other. Genesis 2:18 God has placed people in our lives to support us through the blessings that have been placed in our lives, But more importantly the hardships. We just have to be willing to act as an united people under God. Exodus 17: 9-13 3. United Together For God’s Will We are looking at these verses and noticing that God has commanded Moses to hold up the staff and the Isrealites will win. Holding up the staff is to represent Moses' faith and commitment to the Lord. This is God teaching Moses and the Israelites to pray and trust in the Lord. Moses' brother, Aaron, and his friend ,Hur,(ima call him a friend because he isn't mentioned any other time) they are already on the Hill supporting him and now they have come to Moses when he can no longer hold his staff and hands up. They found a rock big enough for him to sit on. Then held his hands up for him. We need Aaron and Hurs in our lives. Aaron and Hur acted. They moved and gathered to help Moses when God commanded Moses to help his people.. There was no sideline watching. No judgement, no doubt, no whys?, no help me understand before I do this for you. They were just there and willing before they had to be asked. Matthew 18:20 What Are Our Transformational Moments? 1.Are you Listening to what God wants you to Learn today? 2. Does the unity in your church and community matter to you?
