Esther 5:9-14 A Tale Of 2 Attitudes Haman 1. Jealous • He said, “that he neither rose nor trembled before him” Social media has turned jealousy into a more accepted thing… Look at this picture, this is not what it appears 2. Bitter • He said, “he was filled with wrath against” Many times we are bitter towards someone in our lives, but it does not hurt them, it only hurts us… this past year… politics… Race relations... › You can either get bitter or better, but you can’t be both. 3. Never Satisfied • He said, “Yet all this is worth nothing to me,” Anyone have that person in their lives that no matter what you do it is never enough? › You will never be satisfied with any things of this world, we can only be satisfied once we place our focus on the divine. Mordecai 1. Faithful • He was faithful in raising Esther after her parents died Faithful people do what is needed without being asked. › Faithfulness is doing you best for Jesus, even when no one is going to check your work! 2. Kingdom Minded • Guided Esther where she was to save God’s people Do you understand that your time on this earth is so limited? A day is 1,000 years to God… think about that. › We do not have any more time to waste, we must put the kingdom of God first! 3. Integrity • Never took measures into his own hands even though Haman was planning to have him killed. In the end Haman gets to plan Mordecai’s celebration, because he has a poor attitude, then we will see next week where this poor attitude takes him. › Integrity is a concept that is rare in our culture today. › As Christians if we say we are going to do something, we need to do it, and do it with excellence. What does this mean for us? *** In the end Haman gets to plan Mordecai’s celebration, because he has a poor attitude, then we will see next week where this poor attitude takes him.*** 1.
