How to stand strong in your Faith Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Heb. 11:1 1. Believe in your prayers to God If you say you believe in the Lord then you should also fully believe in his abilities when you ask for things in prayer. Stand firm in that belief. Therefore I tell you whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24 Faith starts with obedience, and can grow tremendously through obedience to God's word. 2. Have Faith in God's time and way In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps. Proverbs 16:9 Don’t be discouraged when God doesn’t answer or provide in the way you asked/expected him to. Be willing to see the way God has answered you and know that his ways are higher. 3. Do not doubt your Faith “Lord, if it’s you, “ Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come”, he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:28-31 When we are focused and on fire for the Lord, we do not doubt. But as soon as we lose focus, or a storm comes upon us, we let doubt creep in and it causes us to fall. We must strive to overcome the doubt and remember that God is always faithful. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 Yet he tells us “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you. Matthew 7:7 That is the God we serve, don't you want to be just as faithful to him as he is to us! What does this mean for us? Are you tired of being lukewarm? Do you need to quit looking for your answers/solutions and instead look for the ways God has already answered? Do you truly believe that our God can do anything?
