How can we live transformed?

 • Series: 2021 Sermon Archive

We Are Hope - How can we live transformed? At Hope we are: Transforming lives by the power of the Holy Spirit; Growing individuals in a deeper walk with God; and Reaching our community with the love of God. I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2 1 - Resist the Pressure to Conform One of the greatest lies is that you do not need the church to have transformation   You can be a Christian and not come to church, but you’d have to disregard everything the Bible says to justify your absence. 2 - Understand This is Not Our Home Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 If we keep our focus on the destination, the travel will not be as difficult. 3 - Change to God's Way of Thinking  Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. Philippians 2:5-7 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. John 15:7 Jesus promoted others and diminished himself. If we want to think the way God thinks, maybe we should spend more time with God and less time on Netflix. What does this mean for us? Are you a conformer or a reformer? Do you want transformation today?
