LOVE || PART 7 Love... 1. Does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in truth it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 1 Corinthians 13:6 (ESV) Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Romans 12:9 When the people around you are struggling, be there for them, and when they have good things going on, rejoice with them. 2. Bears all things Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:7 But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. Luke 6:27 As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 Often this is our first go-to, but I would think this would be a last resort for us. We are not to blindly just let everything go, we are called to stand up for the Truth in God’s word. 3. Believes all things Love gives the benefit of the doubt. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:24-25 4. Hopes all things "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 5. Endures all things Love always perseveres. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:2-3 Love means enduring the mission of Christ even when everything is against us. What does this mean for us? Do you rejoice with your brother? Do you try to have an understanding of others? Do you need to recommit yourself to what God is calling you to do?
