Lessons of the Lost Coin

 • Series: 2022 Sermon Archive

Lessons of the Lost Coin “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’  Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Luke 15:8-10 1. We Are Lost But Not Forgotten There is a world out there that is lost and hurting. Who is going to tell them about Jesus? 2. Everything was Done for it to be Found The women in this story pulled out all of the stops to ensure that money was found. If you would not stop at anything until your lost money was found, why will we not do anything to make sure a lost world has found Jesus? 3. God has Found Us All We were once lost but now we are found. Praise God! We are undeserving of the love of God. None of us deserve the grace afforded to us; it is selfish to keep it to ourselves. What does this mean for us? Who in your circle needs to see Jesus in you? Are you doing everything you can to reach the lost?  Do you need to be found today? _________________________________ Join our churchwide devotion for April.
