Deliver Us From...

 â€¢ Series: 2022 Sermon Archive

Deliver Us From... And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Matthew 6:13 1 - Attacks from the Devil The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10 The devil wants nothing more than to destroy you and often those attacks come when you are trying to do what the Lord has asked of you. The devil wants nothing more than to take you down, because you are the main weapon that God uses against him. 2 - Unsuspecting Temptation No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 There are times that temptation seems to come out of nowhere. Remember, it is not a sin to be tempted, it is a sin to act upon that temptation. 3 - Addiction  So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. 1 Thessalonians 5:6-8 Addiction mostly happens in secret. If you have to go hide to do something, should you be doing it? 4 - Resurfacing Fear or Anxiety  Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22 This verse makes it sound so easy, but it is not. Sometimes with fear and anxiety you just have to focus on putting one foot in front of the other. What does this mean for us? Do you need God's forgiveness today? Do you need God to strengthen you? Lay it all at his feet today. _________________________________ Have you made a commitment to follow Jesus?  Decision Form June Bible Reading
